Executive Bio
Mr. Mark I. Bailen is a Partner at Baker & Hostetler LLP. He practices in the litigation group, with an emphasis on commercial litigation and First Amendment matters. With respect to media-related issues, Mr. Bailen represents a variety of print and broadcast clients. He defends claims for libel, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress arising out of publication and newsgathering activities. He also provides prepublication review and related advice to clients. Mr. Bailen, outside the First Amendment area, handles various commercial litigation matters on behalf of domestic and foreign clients in courts in the United States. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Bailen worked as a television producer in Washington, D.C. Mr. Bailen is a member of the American, District of Columbia, Maryland, and Massachusetts Bar Associations. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Police Boys & Girls Club of Washington, D.C. He holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and BA from Cornell University.
