Mr. Lewis R. Steinberg, also known as Lew, has been Managing Director and Structured Solutions Head for The Americas Mergers & Acquisitions Group for Merrill Lynch at Bank of America Corporation since May 2015. Mr. Steinberg served as Managing Director and Head of Global Strategic Solutions Group at UBS Investment Bank. He served as a Partner at Linklaters LLP. He joined Cravath in 1984 and was elected a partner in 1991, specializing in tax law. He served at Credit Suisse and was in the role of a Managing Director and Strategic Advisory Head focused on structuring M&A transactions. He began his career in 1984 as an attorney at the law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he was designated as the Co-Head of the Tax Department. He serves as First Vice Chair of the Tax Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is also the incoming Co-chair of Committee N (Taxation) of the International Bar Association and is an Adjunct Professor at the NYU School of Law, where he teaches Advanced Corporate Tax Problems. He received an A.B. from Amherst College in 1978, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, a J.D. with honors from New York University School of Law in 1984 and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1992.
