Executive Bio

Mr. Shawn McLoughlin has been the Chief Executive Officer of BGC Financial - Americas Region at BGC Partners, Inc. since September 25, 2017. Mr. McLoughlin served as an Executive Managing Director and Co-CEO of BGC Financial at BGC Partners, Inc. since December 11, 2016 until September 25, 2017 and served as its Senior Managing Director of New Business Development for North America until December 11, 2016. Mr. McLoughlin served as Director of New Business Development - North America of BGC Partners, Inc since May 2012. Mr. McLoughlin focuses on building BGC's North American Financial Services business as BGC expands into new product areas, hires new talent and explores further opportunities for organic growth and acquisition. Mr. McLoughlin joined BGC with more than 25 years' experience in the financial services industry. He also held leading positions with Tullett Prebon plc, where he was responsible for building its equities business in New York and Liberty Securities Corporation, where he was responsible for building the company's intermediate treasury division. Mr. McLoughlin co-founded Ticonderoga Securities LLC and also served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. McLoughlin served as the Chief Executive Officer of North America at Collins Stewart Hawkpoint Limited (also known as Collins Stewart plc). He started his career at Government Securities broker, RMJ in 1982. He joined Cantor Fitzgerald in New York in 1986 becoming Co-Manager of the Intermediate Government Securities Department. He joined Liberty Brokerage in 1991. After a four year term running sales and trading at SMR Energy Income funds, he returned to Liberty Brokerage to work in the fixed income arena in 1999 shortly before its merger with Tullett & Tokyo. In 2002, he was mandated to start a North American equities division for and was instrumental in the acquisition and subsequent restructuring of the equity broking business of Burlington Capital Markets.
