The Diversity score provides insights into how diverse employees feel and rate their work experience at Bigleaf Networks across various culture dimensions.
In order to further assist us in achieving our aspirational value of Diversity, we want to clearly define what it means at Bigleaf:
We are committed to attracting, hiring and retaining team members from a broad spectrum of backgrounds. We believe all team members at Bigleaf have equal value and the differences that each individual brings makes us stronger as a whole. We believe the best version of Bigleaf is one where different voices, opinions and backgrounds are valued and heard.
How we view Diversity:
Bigleaf encourages an open and transparent environment where different/diverse perspectives are truly valued. Our thoughts around diversity fall into two buckets:
1. Diversity means including different ideas, backgrounds and opinions when we make decisions. It means encouraging variety of thought, embracing new ideas and creating a culture that fosters innovation by valuing these differences.
2. We want to undertake efforts to benefit people of color and women, who have been historically marginalized for generations. We believe we should encourage, empower, and provide opportunities for people in these groups. These steps are not to take away from other groups of people, but instead to help provide a foundation for success that might otherwise be missing due to the lack of generational support and success in the past.
How we view inclusion:
We want to achieve a work environment in which all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and can contribute fully to the organization’s success. Ultimately, an inclusive Bigleaf is when ALL team members feel valued and have opportunities to succeed.
How it looks (some examples):
• Use of Bigleaf resources (time and money) dedicated to organizations that support Women and POC.
• Hiring practices that ensure parity and encourage diverse candidates (location of where we post job openings/source candidates)
• Holding ourselves accountable to the commitments of this program, open dialogue, transparency and commitment. Sharing data openly and creating goals to measure/track our progress.
• Education/Training for all team members.
