Mr. Marshal D. Smith, also known as Mark, has been the Chief Financial Officer at California Resources Corporation since July 15, 2014 and serves as its Senior Executive Vice President. Mr. Smith served as the Chief Financial Officer at Ultra Petroleum Corp. since July 18, 2005 and its Senior Vice President since February 2011. Mr. Smith has over 32 years of progressive experience in all aspects of the energy industry including operations, strategic planning, corporate finance, banking and business development., Early in his career, Mr. Smith served as a Practicing Petroleum Engineer for both major and independent oil companies and later focused his career on mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance advisory assignments in the energy sector. From 2001 to 2002, Mr. Smith served as the Chief Financial Officer of Gulf Liquids, Inc. Mr. Smith served as Vice President of Business Development of J. M. Huber Energy from 2002 to 2004. From 2004 to July 2005, Mr. Smith served as Vice President of Upstream Business Development at Constellation Energy. Mr. Smith holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from Oklahoma City University.
