Shawn Cavanagh — Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Cambrex Corporation

Mr. Shawn P. Cavanagh has been the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Cambrex Corporation since January 17, 2011. From 2007 to 2009 Mr. Cavanagh was employed at Lonza, which purchased Cambrex Bioproducts, most recently as President of Lonza Bioscience. Mr. Cavanagh served as Senior Vice President and General Manager Bioproducts Business Unit of Cambrex Corp. since September 30, 2005. Mr. Cavanagh joined Cambrex in October 1999 with the acquisition of FMC BioProducts. In 2000, he was promoted to the position Global Director, Endotoxin Detection and in 2004, to the position of Vice President, Bioproducts. Performance of the businesses that Mr. Cavanagh had been responsible for had been very strong over the last five years and most recently he led the effort to acquire Genolife and associated rapid microbial detection technologies. Mr. Cavanagh served as Head of Bioscience for Lonza Group AG. Prior to joining Cambrex, Mr. Cavanagh held various management and engineering positions with FMC BioProducts. Mr. Cavanagh holds a degree in Chemical Engineering, graduating cum laude from the University of New Hampshire.
