Mr. Steven L. Polacek, also known as Steve, B.S. has been the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Capella Education Company since September 07, 2010. Mr. Polacek has more than 25 years of finance and strategic business experience. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Hutchinson Technology Inc. from March 8, 2010 to August 2010. He served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Opus Corporation from January 2006 to 2009. He was responsible for strategic planning, finance, accounting, human resources, legal and information technology. Mr. Polacek joined Deloitte & Touche LLP and served as its Partner from 2002 to 2005. He joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1982 and became a Partner in 1993. From 1995 to 2002 he served as a Managing Partner of Arthur Andersen's Minneapolis office. His community service has included service on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities and Washburn Child Guidance Center. He serves as a Board Member of Opus Foundation as well as chair of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Holy Angels. He served as Independent Director of CH Robinson Worldwide Inc. from October 2007 to January 1, 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
