Executive Bio

Mr. David Lawenda has been Executive Vice President of Digital Sales & Sales Strategy at CBS Corporation since August 3, 2017. Mr. Lawenda served as Head of U.S. Global Marketing Solutions at Facebook from July 2013 to March 2017. He oversaw and scaled a new multicultural targeting capability generating significant revenue. As head of U.S. sales at Facebook, Lawenda was responsible for overseeing marketing relationships with the leading brands and agencies in the country and specifically managing the growth of 14 key verticals: CPG, Beauty, Pharma/Health Care, Retail, Automotive, Financial Services, Restaurants, Technology, Telecomm, Entertainment, Government/Political, Travel, E-commerce and Professional Services. He served as the President of Univision Ad Sales at Univision Radio, Inc. He served as the President of Advertising Sales and Marketing at Univision Communications Inc. since September 2007 until September 2012. Mr. Lawenda oversaw advertising sales for all of Univision's media assets, including the Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisi??n Television Networks; Univision and TeleFutura Television Groups; and Univision Online and help brands connect with Hispanic consumers by developing customized integrated marketing programs that harness the full power of Univision's portfolio. He served as Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales of MTVN. He was the Senior Vice President and General Sales Manager of Paramount Advertiser Services (a division of Paramount Domestic Television), oversaw all aspects of national syndicated advertising sales and was a part of the team responsible for the launch of UPN. He served as an Account Executive of Turner Broadcasting, responsible for national advertising sales for CNN and Headline News. He began his career at DDB Needham. He possesses a unique combination of digital and linear expertise, with extensive interactive, mobile, broadcast, cable, syndication, agency and multicultural experience that spans almost three decades. He served as a Director of Interactive Advertising Bureau, Inc. For several years, he has served on the Marketing Executive Committee of UJA - Federation of New York and is also on the board of directors of the Advertising Club of New York and the Hetrick-Martin Institute. Mr. Lawenda received a B.A. degree in English with honors from Georgetown University in 1988.
