Centrus Energy Corp. CEO Daniel Poneman Bio
Mr. Daniel B. Poneman, also known as Dan, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Centrus Energy Corp. since March 2015. Mr. Poneman served as the Chief Strategic Officer at Centrus Energy Corp., since March 6, 2015 to March 31, 2015. He served as Deputy Secretary of energy at Venture Global LNG, LLC from May 2009 to October 2014, with responsibilities spanning the range of U.S. energy policies and programs, including cyber security, project management, national security and international cooperation. His efforts in incident management and emergency response included the Fukushima accident, the 2011 drawdown from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve and Hurricane Sandy. From 2001 to 2009, Mr. Poneman was a Principal of The Scowcroft Group, providing strategic advice to corporations on a wide variety of international projects and transactions. Prior to The Scowcroft Group, he practiced law as a partner at Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C. He served on the National Security Council as director of defense policy and arms control under President George H.W. Bush and as special assistant to the president and senior director for nonproliferation and export controls under President Bill Clinton. Mr. Poneman has been a Director of Venture Global LNG, Inc. (alternative name Venture Global LNG, LLC) since December 3, 2014; Nuclear Energy Institute since May 12, 2015; Traxys S.A. since April 2015 and Centrus Energy Corp., since March 2015. He is published widely on energy and national security issues. He holds M.Litt. in Politics from University of Oxford, JD and BA from Harvard University.
