Executive Bio

Mr. Claude Mattessich has been Managing Director of CIT Commercial & Industrial Finance at CIT Group Inc. since August 8, 2015. Mr. Mattessich is responsible for originating asset-based and cash flow lending opportunities focused on leveraged middle market companies undergoing buyouts, M&A, turnaround situations and working capital growth. He served as Managing Director of Corporate Finance, Commercial & Industrial at CIT Group Inc. His areas of expertise: LBOs, Working capital growth, Distressed situations including bankruptcy and exit financing and Cash flow and asset-based financing. He has more than 17 years of experience working at banks and finance companies providing diverse financial products to middle market and small corporate borrowers. Prior to CIT, he held positions at Capital One Leverage Finance and Merrill Lynch Capital soliciting private equity sponsors and deal intermediaries for 1st lien, 2nd lien and equity co-investment opportunities for middle market buyouts and turnaround situations. He sits on the Board of Directors of the NY Turnaround Management Association and served as the President of the NY Commercial Finance Association. Mr. Mattessich received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA with honors in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University's Frank Zarb School of Business.
