Executive Bio

Mr. James L. Hudak, also known as Jim, has been the President of CIT Commercial Finance at CIT Group Inc. since December 2015. Mr. Hudak served as the President and Co-Head of Corporate Finance at CIT Group Inc. from October 2008 to December 2015. He has more than 25 years of experience in corporate and leverage banking, specifically targeting middle-market companies. He has served in a number of capacities on the credit, underwriting and origination sides. Mr. Hudak's areas of expertise include private equity and M&A trends, capital markets and trends and convergence in the media, information services and technology, entertainment and gaming, sports and communications sectors. Mr. Hudak served as the President of Communications, Media and Entertainment and Managing Director of CIT Lending Services Corporation since 2001. In 1994, he co-founded the Telecom Financing Group at&T Capital, a predecessor of CIT. Mr. Hudak originally joined AT&T Capital in 1991 in its Capital Markets Division, focusing on large project financings and leveraged leases. He joined with a partner and co-founded AT&T Capital's Telecom Group, eventually augmenting it with media, entertainment and other technology sector capabilities. For the past six years, he has run the Corporate Finance Group at CIT, which comprises leading industry verticals in Aerospace & Defense, Commercial & Industrial, Communications, Media & Entertainment, Energy and Healthcare. He soon Over the years, he successfully guided the group through several accretive acquisitions, including Nomura, Newcourt Capital, Tyco and CIT. In the mid-1980s, he started his career at Philadelphia National Bank, completed a formal bank training program and initially concentrated on commercial real estate projects and thereafter had roles at both Merrill Lynch and Citibank, where he worked in the Leveraged Finance division. He is a former officer in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Mr. Hudak received a BA from Bucknell University and an MBA from Cornell University.
