Jay F. Whitehurst — President of Enterprise Technologies at Comtech Telecommunications Corp.

Mr. Jay F. Whitehurst has been President of Enterprise Technologies at Comtech Telecommunications Corp. since February 2016. Mr. Whitehurst serves as Senior Vice President at TeleCommunication Systems Inc., and its President of Commercial Software Group. Mr. Whitehurst served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Software Group at TeleCommunication Systems Inc., since March 2011. He was responsible for all aspects of the product life cycle including development, delivery and support operations as well as financial oversight and product marketing. He is charged with integrating TCS' wireless data, location and application technologies to create next-generation commercial offerings. He served as a Senior Vice President of Products, Technology and Engineering of Movius Interactive Corporation. He joined Movius Interactive Corporation in 2007 and leads product line management and engineering and is responsible for definition and implementation of its messaging and integrated mobile media applications portfolios. As Chief Operating Officer of Movius Interactive, he developed new value-added services for Tier 1 wireless carriers. Mr. Whitehurst is a telecommunications industry veteran who has extensive experience in General Management, Sales and Marketing, Business Development, R&D, Customer Service and Operations. He is a 22-year veteran of Nortel Networks, where he held a number of leadership roles. He served at Black & Decker. He served as a Chief Operating Officer of GENBAND, where he focused on integration and growth plans and directed its business units, professional services, manufacturing operations and information services departments. He served as the President and General Manager of Switching Solutions Group based in Plano of Tekelec since April 2006. Mr. Whitehurst joined Tekelec from Axes Technologies in Dallas, where he served as an Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development and directed Tekelec's next-generation switching, media gateway, hosted voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and convergence solutions, including its IP Multimedia subsystem (IMS) offerings. At Nortel, he served as an Executive Vice President, Wireless Global Operations, leading a 6,000-person organization responsible for $5 billion in revenues. He directed marketing operations, supply management, manufacturing, market and product readiness, technical support and delivery and professional services from offices in Dallas and Paris. He held leadership positions at Nortel Networks in Raleigh and Dallas, including Vice President and General Manager, DMS and VoIP Solution Delivery. Other management roles included directing research and development programs and introducing new products in international markets. He founded Velleros, Inc., and served as its Chairman of the Board. He was a Board Member at Axes Technologies. He twice received the Chairman's Award of Excellence for Quality and Teamwork for activities involving the delivery of large-scale projects at Nortel Networks. Mr. Whitehurst completed the Advanced Management Program at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Appalachian State University.
