Vice Admiral David H. Buss, also known as Dave, has been the President of Cubic Global Defense (CGD) and Senior Vice President at Cubic Corporation since May 25, 2016. Vice Admiral Buss leads the business strategy for Cubic's defense business, which is focused on NextTraining. He joined Cubic in June 2015 and has a wealth of experience, as well as a deep understanding of the military training and readiness business. He oversees and manages the overall CGD business, which spans across more than 35 nations. Vice Admiral Buss is responsible for executing the strategy for Cubic's defense business, which is focused on NextTraining. Vice Admiral Buss joined Cubic Global Defense as Senior Vice President and Deputy President in June 2015. Prior to joining Cubic, he served more than 36 years in the U.S. Navy, where he retired in the rank of Vice Admiral after serving more than two years as Commander, Naval Air Forces (the Navy's Air Boss). Prior to his Air Boss responsibilities, he served as the Deputy Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was responsible for training and certifying all east coast Navy ships and squadrons as deployment-ready, while simultaneously commanding Task Force 20, the former U.S. Second Fleet. During his time as the Air Boss, Vice Admiral Buss was responsible for all policies, requirements, training and operational readiness for Naval Aviation. Vice Admiral Buss ran the Naval Warfare Integration Group, a Pentagon-based strategic think tank and also served for 14 months in Baghdad as Director of Strategy/Plans/Assessments for Multi-National Force - Iraq from 2008 to 2009. His other command assignments include the USS Enterprise Carrier Strike Group, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), the fast combat support ship USS Sacramento (AOE 1), and Attack Squadron Thirty-Four. As a career naval aviator, he also was privileged to command a jet squadron and a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Vice Admiral Buss has years of distinguished military service and extensive knowledge of both industry and combat operations to his role at Cubic Global Defense. Vice Admiral Buss graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy in 1978.
