Mr. John B. Kessler has been the President and Chief Operating Officer of Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. since February 2, 2015. From 2010 to 2013, Mr. Kessler served as the Managing Director in the Credit business at Fortress Investment Group LLC where Mr. Kessler focused on real estate. From 1993 to 2010, he held various positions in real estate at Morgan Stanley and had served as its Managing Director. During that period, Mr. Kessler served as the Global Chief Financial Officer at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing. While at the firm, he was a leader in the acquisitions of select real estate investment management operations of Lend Lease, the ???go private??? acquisition of AMLI Residential and in the successful integration and operation of both of these businesses. Mr. Kessler also managed equity funds and separate accounts business. Mr. Kessler received an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA cum laude from Harvard College where he studied Engineering Sciences.
