Executive Bio

Ms. Gwendolyn Keyes Fleming, also known as Gwen, has been a Partner of Van Ness Feldman, P.C since July 2017. Ms. Fleming served as the Chief of Staff at United States Environmental Protection Agency. Ms. Fleming served as EPA Regional Administrator to Region 4 (Atlanta) in September 2010 where she was responsible for establishing and implementing environmental policy for eight southeastern states. She was twice elected District Attorney for the Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit in DeKalb County, Georgia--the first African-American and first woman to hold that office. She was the youngest ever elected as Solicitor General. Ms. Fleming has over twenty years of public sector experience, having served as both an elected and appointed official at the state and local levels, as well as in various branches of the federal government, including as a Principal Legal Advisor at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Ms. Fleming earned a Bachelor Science in Finance from Douglass College and she earned her Law Degree from the Emory University School of Law.
