Mr. Charles Theodore Happel, also known as Charlie, CFA serves as the President and Portfolio Manager of EquiTrust Investment Management Services, Inc. Mr. Happel has been the Chief Investment Officer at FBL Financial Group Inc. since September 2009 and served as its Executive Vice President. He joined EquiTrust in 1987 and served as a Portfolio Manager since 1994. Mr. Happel served as Securities Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Equitrust Series Fund, Inc. - Managed Portfolio and Equitrust Variable Insurance - Managed Portfolio. He was primarily responsible for the management of the Value Growth, Managed Portfolios and a Registered Principal for the Adviser. He served as Securities Vice President and Portfolio Manager of EquiTrust Series Fund, Inc. - Value Growth Portfolio and Equitrust Series Fund - Blue Chip Portfolio. He served as Vice President of Investments at FBL Financial Group Inc., since August 2008. He serves as a Director of EquiTrust Investment Management Services, Inc. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and an M.B.A. degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. Happel is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
