Executive Bio

Mr. Craig D. Hill has been President of The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, subsidiary of FBL Financial Group Inc., since December 2011. Mr. Hill served as Vice President of Iowa Farm Bureau Federation since 1989 until December 2011. Mr. Hill has been the Chairman of the Board at FBL Financial Group, Inc. since December 13, 2011 and has been its Director since 2002. He served as a Director of Farm Bureau Life, Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and Farm Bureau Mutual, subsidiaries of FBL Financial Group Inc., since 1989. Mr. Hill served as a Director of Growmark since 2001. He served as Director of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation since 1989. Mr. Hill was a current Vice-President and Director at Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. He was elected vice president of the Iowa Farm Bureau in December 2001. As vice president he served on the board of directors which interprets Farm Bureau policy adopted by more than 154,000 Farm Bureau members in Iowa. He also served as chairman of the state resolutions committee and was named to the Growmark Board, a mutli-state regional cooperative. Mr. Hill was elected to the board in December 1989. Before serving as District 8 director, he was very active in the Warren County Farm Bureau and held state leadership positions on the grain advisory committee and as a member of the Farm Bureau long-range planning team. Mr. Hill was instrumental in the development of Revenue Assurane, a revenue based crop insurance for corn and soybean farmers. He was a member of the Iowa Farm Bill Study Team and is Farm Bureau's liaison on the Iowa Corn Growers Association board of directors. He also served as the first chairman of the Iowa Ag State Group, which consists of representatives from all sectors of Iowa's agriculture and on the U.S. Grains Council. Mr. Hill was also appointed to Governor Vilsack's Strategic Planning Council in 1999 to help Iowa prepare for the future of our state in 2010. Mr. Hill studied ag studies and management at the college level for three years. He and his wife, Patti, farm 1,200 acres of row crops and have a 260 sow farrow-to-finish hog operation. They are also the parents of two children, Adam and Abbie.
