Mr. Paul J. Kaleta has been an Executive Vice President and General Counsel of First Solar, Inc. since March 3, 2014 and serves as its Secretary. Mr. Kaleta served Corporate Executive Vice President of Shared Services at Nevada Power Co., since July 2012. Mr. Kaleta served as Corporate Senior Vice President of Shared Services, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of NV Energy, Inc since July 2012. He served as a Corporate Executive Vice President of Shared Services, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Sierra Pacific Power Company since July 2012, 2006 and 2006 respectively. He served as Senior Vice President of Shared Services of Sierra Pacific Power Company and Nevada Power Co., since 2006. He served as a Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Nevada Power Company since 2006. He served as Corporate Senior Vice President of NV Energy, Inc., since February 2001. Mr. Kaleta served with Koch Industries, Inc. During his seven years at Koch, he held a variety of positions which included General Counsel for the parent company and a number of subsidiaries in its multi-faceted organization. His activities included legal issues involving refining and petrochemicals, several pipelines, including FERC-regulated natural gas pipelines, electric and gas trading, as well as other legal, compliance and financial matters. He served as Chief Compliance Officer of NV Energy Inc. Prior to joining Koch, he served as Vice President and General Counsel of Niagara Mohawk Power Company for 10 years, where for six years he oversaw all legal matters related to this New York Stock Exchange-listed gas and electric utility. Mr. Kaleta also was a Partner and served as an Associate in the Washington, D.C. law firm of Swidler & Berlin, Chtd, from 1985 to 1991 as well as an Associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom from 1982 to 1984. He has been a Director of Advanced Energy Economy since January 4, 2017. He holds a J.D. (cum laude) from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1981. Mr. Kaleta did his undergraduate work at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, earning an A.B. degree (cum laude) in 1978.
