Meredith M. Lackey — Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Georgia Power Company

Ms. Meredith M. Lackey has been Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Georgia Power Co. since November 01, 2016. Ms. Lackey has been the Chief Compliance Officer at Georgia Power Co. since October 2016. Ms. Lackey is responsible for overseeing Georgia Power's corporate compliance, risk management, security and legal services functions. She provides legal counsel to Georgia Power's leadership team and serve on the Georgia Power Co's management council. Ms. Lackey served as Vice President and General Counsel of Colonial Pipeline Company since January 01, 2012. Ms. Lackey was responsible for ensuring the protection and enhancement of Colonial's legal rights and corporate reputation through the leadership of the legal team. She also served as Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary at Colonial. In addition, Ms. Lackey was responsible for Colonial's Compliance and Records Management. Ms. Lackey joined Colonial in 2008 as a senior attorney where she managed a broad variety of legal matters, including employment, regulatory and litigation. Since 2010, she served as Director of Compliance, overseeing Colonial's central compliance program. she worked for a large international mining company based in the Atlanta area. Initially hired as litigation counsel for all U.S. subsidiaries, she was subsequently promoted to Director of Human Resources for one of company's major U.S. divisions. Prior to moving in-house in 2003, she practiced as a general commercial litigator at two leading law firms, Jones Day and Baker Botts. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Louisiana State University and a J.D. degree from the University of Mississippi.
