Mike Anderson — Senior Vice President of Charitable Giving at Georgia Power Company

Mr. Mike Anderson has been Senior Vice President of Charitable Giving at Georgia Power Co. since 2011. Mr. Anderson manages Georgia Power Co.'s corporate giving, and serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. and Vice President of Southern Company Foundation. He served as a Vice President of Corporate Services at Georgia Power Co. He served as an Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and President of Georgia Power Co. since February 2005. He served as Metro South Region Manager at Georgia Power Co. Prior to this position, Mr. Anderson served as Vice President of Corporate Services. In this role, he was responsible for Corporate Safety, Labor Relations, Fleet Management, Workforce Development, Workforce Training, and Charitable Giving. Additionally, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Georgia Power Childcare, LLC. He began his career with Georgia Power in 1979 and has held numerous leadership positions in Capital Budgeting, System Planning, Customer Operations, Information Technology, Marketing and External Affairs. In the community, he serves on numerous boards, including Georgia Tech Industrial & Systems Engineering Advisory Committee, Zoo Atlanta, Emory University Board of Visitors, and Georgia Tech Alexander-Tharpe Inc. He received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was also inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni. Mr. Anderson has an MBA from Emory University and is an alumnus of The Regional Leadership Institute, Leadership Georgia, and Leadership Atlanta.
