Xia Liu — Executive VP, CFO & Treasurer at Georgia Power Company

Ms. Xia Liu has been an Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Georgia Power Co. since October 01, 2010 and is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting and financial functions. Ms. Liu served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President at Gulf Power Company since June 2015 until October 09, 2017 and served as its Treasurer until October 09, 2017. She was responsible for overall accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, treasury, internal controls, regulatory, rates and pricing and forecasting functions. She began her career at Southern Company in 1998. Ms. Liu served as Treasurer of The Southern Company since March 1, 2014. Ms. Liu served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Treasurer of Southern Company Services, Inc. since March 1, 2014. She served as Vice President of Finance and Assistant Treasurer of Southern Company Services, Inc. from July 2010 to March 1, 2014. She joined Southern Company in 1998 and worked as an Assistant Treasurer and Director of Financial Planning for Alabama Power. She served as Manager of financial and corporate planning for Alabama Power. Prior to that, she was the Fuels Environmental and Compliance Manager for Southern Company Generation. She held positions of increasing responsibility within corporate finance and served as assistant to the Southern Company CFO. She is a chartered financial analyst (CFA). She is also an International Woman's Forum Leadership Foundation fellow and has attended executive programs at Harvard University and INSEAD School of France. She also completed two years of study in Emory University's Economics Ph.D. program and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Finance from Renmin University in China. Ms. Liu earned a Master's in Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
