Mr. Butcher served as an Executive Vice President of Mining Exellence at Gold Fields Ltd. since February 01, 2016 and served as its Head of Group Technical Services. Mr. Butcher served as Executive Vice President of Technical at Gold Fields Ltd. Mr. Butcher has 30 years' experience in gold mining, obtained globally in companies that include Gencor, Anglo-American and Barrick. He was previously Head of Technical Services at MMG, the overseas arm of the Chinese CMC/CMN Corporation. This position involves being discipline head for all Technical functions, long-term planning and closure for the group's operations in Australasia, Africa and South America. Mr. Butcher served as Director of Barrick (PD) Australia Pty Limited from November 14, 2013 to May 15, 2014. He served as Director of Barrick (PD) Australia Finance Pty. Ltd., until May 15, 2014. He holds a Diploma in Coal Mining Engineering, Advanced Rock Engineering Certificate, Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (Mineral economics), MSc (Eng) in Mining Engineering & CEng (UK) / FAusIMM (CP) WA First Class (Mine Managers) Cert No: 766 and holds General Managers Course Cert-AGSM / UNSW.
