Ellen E. Fairchild — VP, Chief Compliance Officer & Corporate Secretary at Great Plains Energy

Mrs. Ellen E. Fairchild has been Chief Compliance Officer, Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Kansas City Power & Light Company and Greater Missouri Operations Company since November 2010. Mrs. Fairchild has been Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary of Great Plains Energy Incorporated since November 3, 2010 and its Vice President since 2010. She served as the Chief Compliance Officer, Vice President and Corporate Secretary of KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company. She served as Director of Investor Relations at KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Co from January 2008 and served as its Senior Director of Investor Relations from June 2010. From 1986 to 2002, She served as Director of Investor Relations and Vice President, Investor Relations, for Aquila Inc. She also served as Manager, Finance and Manager, Shareholder Relations, for UtiliCorp United Inc., which later became Aquila Inc. She was also a Staff Auditor and Staff Accountant-Accounts Payable for Missouri Public Service, a division of UtiliCorp United. She served as Director of Investor Relations at Great Plains Energy Incorporated, Greater Missouri Operations Company and Kansas City Power & Light Company from 2008 to November 3, 2010 and served as its Assistant Secretary. Mrs. Fairchild was an associate at Hagen and Partners from 2005 to 2007. In addition, she has served as an Account Manager for Hagen and Partners, a marketing/communications company in Leawood, Kan., and Director, Christian Education, for Lee's Summit United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit, Mo. She is a member of the board of directors of Lee's Summit Social Services and Gillis, an agency to help at-risk children and families reach their potential through education, counseling and social services. Mrs. Fairchild received her B.S. in Accounting from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan., and her master of business administration from Rockhurst University.
