Maria Jenks — Vice President of Supply Chain - Kansas City Power & Light Company at Great Plains Energy

Ms. Maria Jenks serves as the Vice President of Supply Chain of KCP&L Greater Missouri Operations Company since January 2010. Ms. Jenks joined KCP&L in 2003 as Manager of Corporate Accounting and has several years of finance and accounting experience and knowledge of the energy industry. In 2006, she became Director of Audit Services and then assumed the position of Chief Internal Auditor until she accepted Vice President, Supply Chain in January 2010. Ms. Jenks has more than 20 years of success in corporate finance and accounting. She began her career with Continental Illinois National Bank. She then spent several years in the retail sector with Payless Cashways, Inc. where she held several positions in finance and accounting. In 1996, Ms. Jenks joined Trigen Energy Corporation and was promoted to Vice President Controller for the Western Region shortly thereafter. Ms. Jenks is on the board of directors and finance committee of SAFEHOME, a domestic violence shelter and resource for women and children; a founding member of both the KCP&L Employee Relief Fund and the KCP&L Women's Leadership Employee Resource Group. She is a Certified Public Accountant. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy with a minor in decision sciences from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, graduating summa cum laude.
