Attorney Martin A. Traber, also known as Marty, J.D. was the Co-Founder of HCI Group, Inc. Attorney Traber has been a Partner of Foley & Lardner LLP since August 1994, where he is a member of Foley & Lardner's Transactional & Securities and Private Equity & Venture Capital Practices and its Emerging Technologies Industry Team. Attorney Traber's practice focuses on corporate securities and public companies. He has been the Chairman of the capital markets group of Skyway Capital Markets LLC since February 2017. He is also employed at Foley Ventures. Prior to joining Foley & Lardner, Attorney Traber served as a Partner in the law firm of Ardor & Hadden where he served for 10 years. Attorney Traber has practiced in Corporate Finance and Securities Law for over 30 years. His areas of Emphasis include representation of Companies in Public and Private Securities Offerings, Roll-ups and Mergers and Acquisitions. He represents several public and privately-held Technology Clients. Attorney Traber has been a Director of Powerlinx Inc., (formerly Seaview Video Technology Inc.) since November 1, 2003. He has been an Independent Director of HCI Group, Inc. since November 2006. He served as a Director of NorthStar Bank (Tampa, FL). He served as a Director of Dynamic Health Products, Inc. since 1992. Attorney Traber served as an Associate Professor of law at Cleveland State University School of Law, where he developed and Taught a Course on Financing. Attorney Traber has been Peer Review Rated as AVPreeminent, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system and was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America???. In 2007-2012, he was recognized by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in the areas of corporate/M&A and private equity. In 2010, Attorney Traber was recognized by the Legal 500 as one of the leading lawyers in the U.S. for mergers & acquisitions. He has been a Director at LM Funding America, Inc. since October 2015. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2010-2012 Florida Super Lawyers lists. He received a B.A. in 1967 and J.D. degree in 1970 from Indiana University. On January 31, 2017, he retired from the practice of law.
