Executive Bio

Dr. Richard J. Gregory, also known as Rich, Ph.D., has been the Chief Scientific Officer of ImmunoGen, Inc. since January 05, 2015 and has been its Executive Vice President since September 09, 2015. Dr. Gregory provides leadership and direction to the research organization and is responsible for the generation of development candidates based upon ImmunoGen's Antibody Drug Conjugate technology. Dr. Gregory has over twenty-five years of scientific and research management experience, most of it gained in positions of increasing responsibility at Genzyme. Dr. Gregory served as the Head of R & D Center at Genzyme Therapeutic Products Limited Partnership. He served as Executive Vice President of Research at ImmunoGen, Inc. from January 05, 2015 to September 09, 2015. He served as senior vice president and head of research for the Sanofi Genzyme Research & Development Center. He served as the Head of the Sanofi-Genzyme R&D Center and in that capacity was responsible for Genzyme R&D from discovery through regulatory approval since 2011. Dr. Gregory served as Senior Vice President at Genzyme Corporation and Head of Research since 2003, responsible for Discovery and Pre-Clinical Research across all technology platforms and medical areas. He also served as Vice President of Research at Genzyme Corporation since 2003. Dr. Gregory was responsible for oversight of pre-clinical research conducted at Genzyme. In 1989, Dr. Gregory joined Genzyme Corporation, where he was responsible for a number of discovery projects in the molecular biology department. Research on the molecular basis of cystic fibrosis led to the development of Genzyme's CF gene therapy program, for which Dr. Gregory served as Project Team Leader until 1993. From 1993 to 1995, Dr. Gregory served as Director of Molecular Biology at Canji, Inc. in San Diego, where he conducted research on development of gene therapies for cancer. Dr. Gregory returned to Genzyme in 1995 to head the gene therapy program as Vice President for Gene Therapy. He serves as a Director at MG Biotherapeutics LLC. He has been Director of ProMIS Neurosciences Inc. since October 18, 2016. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at Permeon Biologics, Inc. Dr. Gregory served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at RheoGene, Inc. Dr. Gregory is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. He is the co-author of over 60 peer-reviewed publications and 23 issued U.S. patents in the area of biotechnology. Dr. Gregory received the Genzyme President's award for this work in 1991. Dr. Gregory is the co-author of over 60 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Gregory received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1986, followed by post-doctoral research in cancer genetics at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology in Shrewsbury MA.
