David W. Heard — GM of Products & Solutions, Senior VP and Executive Officer at Infinera Corporation

Mr. David W. Heard has been General Manager of Products & Solutions and Senior Vice President at Infinera Corporation since August 1, 2017. Mr. Heard has been Executive Officer of Infinera Corporation since November 8, 2017. He served as an Executive Vice President and President of Network & Service Enablement at JDS Uniphase Corporation (also known as Viavi Solutions Inc.) from October 2010 to April 17, 2015. Mr. Heard is a Co-founder of Zyvex Performance Materials. He served as the President of Communications Test and Measurement Business Segment at JDS Uniphase Corporation. He served as Consultant of BigBand Networks, Inc. from March 2010 to June 30, 2010. He served as Chief Operating Officer of BigBand Networks Inc. from October 30, 2007 to March 2010 and also served as its Senior Vice President from March 7, 2007 to March 2010 and General Manager of Product Operations from March 7, 2007 to October 30, 2007. Mr. Heard served as President and the Chief Executive Officer of Somera Communications Inc., since April 2004. He has more than 20 years of senior management experience, including a decade of strategic development and plan execution at national original equipment manufacturers. He also served as President and General Manager, Network Switching Division of Tekelec Inc. from June 2003 to May 2004. From February 2000 to June 2003, Mr. Heard served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Santera, which was acquired by Tekelec in 2003. As president of Tekelek/Santera Systems switching division, he established it as the leading VoIP gateway supplier. Mr. Heard held various positions from 1995 to 2000 at Lucent Technologies, a leading global manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, in the Access Division, Wireless Network Group and GSM Mobility Group, where he served as Vice President of the Access Division. From 1990 to 1995, Mr. Heard was Regional Director at&T Corporation. He began his career at Chrysler Motors. He served as a Director of Somera Communications Inc. He was recently awarded the school's Alumni Award for Entrepreneurship. He serves as a guest lecturer at Ohio State's Fisher School of Business. Mr. Heard holds a B.S. Degree in Productions & Operations Management from Ohio State University, an MBA from the University of Dayton and an M.S. degree in Management from Stanford University on a Sloan Fellowship.
