Mr. Parthiban Kandappan has been Senior Vice President of System Architecture at Infinera Corporation since November 13, 2017 and served as its Senior Vice President and Head of Architecture since January 2014 until November 13, 2017. Mr. Kandappan served as a Vice President and Co-General Manager of the Transport Business Unit at Applied Micro Circuits Corp. since 2011. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as the General Manager of the Transport Business Unit of Applied Micro. Mr. Kandappan served as Vice President of Advanced Systems Engineering at Infinera where he was responsible for extending technology into new data center markets. He spent eight years as Infinera's Vice President of Systems Engineering. He served as a Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Zaffire, Inc. He was a Co-founder of Berkeley Networks and held various roles in engineering and management at 3Com and Digital Equipment Corp. He has nearly 30 years of computing and communications technology and management experience. Mr. Kandappan earned an M.S.E.E. from Virginia Tech, where he also completed part of the Ph.D. program and a B.E. with Honors from University of Madras, India.
