Lee Bendekgey J.D. — Chief Operating Officer at Invitae Corporation

Mr. Lee Bendekgey, J.D., has been Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Director of CombiMatrix Corporation since November 14, 2017. Mr. Bendekgey has been the Chief Operating Officer of InVitae Corporation since June 12, 2017. Mr. Bendekgey served as Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of InVitae Corporation since November 2013 until June 12, 2017 and served as its General Counsel since November 2013 until February 4, 2017. He served as Senior Vice President of Operations at DNAnexus, Inc. and served as its Vice President of Business Operations. Mr. Bendekgey served as Treasurer of ARCA biopharma, Inc. until March 2009, Chief Financial Officer until February 24, 2009 and Principal Accounting Officer until March 31, 2009 also served as its Senior Vice President. Mr. Bendekgey served as the Chief Financial Officer of Nuvelo Inc. from July 23, 2004 to November 2005 and again since August 14, 2007. He served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Nuvelo Inc., since July 2004. He joined Nuvelo Inc. as a Member of the Senior Management Team and served as its Chief Financial Officer from July 23, 2004 to November 2005. From 1998 to January 2004, Mr. Bendekgey served at Incyte Corporation, where he served several executive positions such as: General Counsel since January 1998; Interim Chief Financial Officer from June 1999 to December 1999; Secretary since June 1998; Executive Vice President since June 2000 and Acting General Manager of Information Business. Mr. Bendekgey served an essential role at Incyte, managing acquisitions, PIPE offerings, patents, licensing, as well as leading Incyte's government relations strategy, acting as a company spokesperson and leading efforts to reposition and restructure. Mr. Bendekgey served as Group Counsel of Computer Systems Group and Division Counsel of MIPS Technologies Inc. From 1993 to 1997, he worked for Silicon Graphics Inc., where he served a variety of positions in their legal group including Director of Legal Services, Products and Technology and Director of Strategic Relations from July 1997 to December 1997. He was a Partner of Squire Sanders & Dempsey (formerly, Graham & James), where he specialized in intellectual property, corporate and commercial law and founded its Palo Alto office. He has over 20 years of experience in leading finance, legal, human resources and other administrative organizations in a variety of sectors, including genomics and biotechnology. Mr. Bendekgey graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from Kalamazoo College and Juris Doctorate from Stanford Law School.
