Mr. Marc Zand serves as Executive Vice President of Content Acquisitions and Digital Networks at ION Media Networks, Inc. Mr. Zand served as an Executive Vice President of Digital Networks and Business Affairs of ION Media Networks, Inc. Mr. Zand served as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs and Digital Networks of ION Media Networks, owner of the largest U.S. broadcast television station group and the ION Television Network, which reaches over 94 million U.S. television households via its nationwide broadcast television, cable and satellite distribution systems. Zand joined ION in August 2003, and is responsible for the management of all content and business negotiations for ION Media Networks??? diverse portfolio of broadcast and digital networks. For ION Television, Mr. Zand has negotiated both content and strategic relationships with leading content suppliers, including CBS Television, Fox Television, NBC Universal, Sony, Paramount and Warner Bros., augmenting ION's off-net series and feature film content. Zand also led negotiations for the partnership with RHI Entertainment, owner of more than 4,000 hours of acclaimed television content, to offer quality library and original primetime programming. Mr. Zand oversees ION Media's digital network business, using ION Media Networks, Inc.'s nationwide digital broadcast terrestrial assets to extend the ION Television product offering. In this capacity, Mr. Zand led the formation of a joint venture among ION, Scholastic, Corus Entertainment, Classic Media and NBC Universal to launch the Qubo Channel, a television and multimedia network devoted to children, focused on literacy and positive values. He also provides both management and investment oversight for ION's other digital media initiatives, including ION Life, the country's first multicast network dedicated to active living and personal growth. Before joining ION, Mr. Zand held a similar position with ABC Family as its Senior Vice President of Business Affairs where he negotiated deals to produce and acquire programming for primetime, daytime, late-night and the Saturday-morning children's block. Prior to turning his focus to the U.S. media industry, Mr. Zand served as managing director with the Cisneros Group of Companies, where he led negotiations for the creation, acquisition and launch of 12 television channels, creating Latin America's leading media company, with interests in broadcast, cable, radio and Internet properties. As Senior Vice President of Business Affairs & Development for Playboy TV International (a joint venture between Playboy Enterprises and Cisneros Group), Zand oversaw the strategic planning and operational implementation for the launch of the Playboy Channel in 25 new territories, making Playboy the world's leading adult television brand available in over 60 countries. Earlier in his career, Zand held various business affairs positions at Worldvision Enterprises (a division of Spelling Entertainment/ Paramount) and Myriad Pictures. Mr. Zand holds a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Virginia and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
