Dr. C. Frank Bennett, BSc, Ph.D. has been Senior Vice President of Antisense Research at Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since January 01, 2006. Dr. Bennett served as Senior Vice President of Antisense Research of Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since January 2006. Dr. Bennett is one of the founding members of Isis. He is involved in the development of antisense oligonucleotides as therapeutic agents, including research on the application of oligonucleotides for inflammatory and cancer targets, oligonucleotide delivery and pharmacokinetics. He also runs Isis's antisense mechanism program. He served as Vice President of Antisense Research at Isis Pharmaceuticals Inc., from June 1995 to January 2006. Dr. Bennett was Associate Senior Investigator in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at SmithKline and French Laboratories, GlaxoSmithKline (currently, GlaxoSmithKline). He served as Director of Antisense Therapeutics Ltd. Dr. Bennett served as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board and Director of Altair Therapeutics, Inc. He served as Non Executive Director of Antisense Therapeutics Ltd., from July 31, 2006 to March 15, 2008. From March 1993 to June 1995, Dr. Bennett served as a Director of Molecular Pharmacology and from May 1992 to March 1993, he was an Associate Director in Molecular and Cellular Biology department of Isis Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Bennett has published more than 90 papers in the field of antisense research and development and has more than 100 issued U.S. patents. Dr. Bennett performed his postdoctoral research in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology at SmithKline and French Laboratories, where he studied the signal transduction pathway of leukotrienes. Dr. Bennett received his B.S. degree in Pharmacy from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
