Mr. Brian M. Cali, Ph.D, Founded Microbia, Inc., in 1998 and has been its Senior Vice President of R&D Strategy & External Innovation since April 15, 2017. Mr. Cali served as Senior Vice President of Preclinical R&D at Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since October 2010 until April 15, 2017. Mr. Cali served as Vice President of Program Management at Microbia, Inc. since September 2003. Mr. Cali has held leadership positions in scientific management as well as business and organizational development. Prior to founding Microbia, Mr. Cali was the Chiron fellow of the Life Sciences Research Foundation at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. He is an inventor on two of the patents licensed to Microbia. He was a Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Gerald Fink at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. He received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.S. in Microbiology from Cornell University.
