Ms. Michelle Speller-Thurman has been employed at Jenner & Block LLP in the position of a Partner since January 2007. She is a partner in the Chicago office. She is a member of the Firm's Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Securities, Corporate Finance, and Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization Practices. Ms. Speller-Thurman's practice is concentrated on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. She has represented clients in connection with commercial finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, secured and unsecured lending, private debt placements, workouts and restructurings, private investments in public entities, and domestic and international mergers and acquisitions involving public and private companies. Prior to law school, Ms. Speller-Thurman was a manager in the Litigation Consulting Services group of Arthur Andersen LLP. After graduating from law school, Ms. Speller-Thurman joined Kirkland & Ellis, where she was an associate in their corporate practice, concentrating on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Ms. Speller-Thurman graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1999 (with a concentration in business associations). She received her B.S. in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991 (with a concentration in financial institutions and insurance). Ms. Speller-Thurman is admitted to practice in Illinois.
