Tracy C. Murphy — Executive Vice President of Life Science & Northern California at Kilroy Realty Corporation

Ms. Tracy C. Murphy has been an Executive Vice President of Life Science & Northern California at Kilroy Realty Corporation since February 2017. Ms. Murphy serves on the Executive Board of Directors for BIOCOM. She served as an Executive Vice President of Life Science at Kilroy Realty Corporation from July 1, 2016 to February 2017. Ms. Murphy served as a Senior Vice President and West Coast Lead of BioMed Realty Trust Inc. She was responsible for the strategic objectives for the Western U.S. for BioMed, including development, acquisitions, leasing and managing a ten million square foot, $4 billion portfolio. She has worked in the life science real estate market for 14 years with the last eight years at BioMed in San Diego. Previously, Ms. Murphy served as a Vice President and San Diego Market Lead at BioMed Realty Trust Inc. since August 7, 2015. Ms. Murphy is a life science real estate expert who serves as Market Lead for BioMed Realty Trust, the lleading provider of real estate solutions to the life science community. She has worked in the life science real estate market for 13 years with the last two years leading the leasing and development team for BioMed Realty in San Diego. Ms. Murphy successfully signed hundreds of leases with over 115 different life science companies across the West Coast, including biotech leaders The J. Craig Venter Institute, Illumina, Human Longevity, Affymetrix, NovoNordisk, Nanostring, Regulus, Celgene (formerly Receptos), Halozyme, Vertex and UCSD. Ms. Murphy co-founded the life science practice for Grubb & Ellis where she developed the understanding and expertise of the unique real estate needs of life science companies. Right out of college, she began her real estate career with BRE in 2002 where she was one of the few brokers who focused almost exclusively on research and development companies in the life science industry. Ms. Murphy has represented her employers, including BioMed Realty, on various BIOCOM committees since her arrival in San Diego in 2002 including ten years on the membership committee. Ms. Murphy graduated from University of Wisconsin ' Whitewater in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business with a minor in Marketing.
