Mr. Stephen D. Farber, also known as Steve, has been Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Kindred Healthcare Inc. since February 03, 2014. Mr. Farber co-founded Connance, Inc. in 2007 and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Farber served as Chief Financial Officer of Tenet Healthcare Corp. from November 7, 2002 to February 2005 and was responsible for the sweeping restructuring of its revenue cycle operation. Mr. Farber has more than 20 years of healthcare experience. He has extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions and has successfully helped grow and restructure health companies. He led the successful financial restructuring of Rural Metro, the nation's second-largest ambulance and fire service operator and was involved in various private equity efforts, including as a healthcare executive-in-residence with Warburg Pincus. Mr. Farber began his career as an investment banker with J.P. Morgan and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he focused on healthcare mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance. Mr. Farber served as Tenet's Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance and Treasurer. Mr. Farber rejoined Tenet in May 1999 from J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York, where he served as Vice President of Health Care Investment Banking. He previously served Tenet as Vice President of corporate finance from February 1997 to October 1998. From 1993 to 1997, he worked as an Investment Banker in the Los Angeles office of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Farber served as Chairman of the Board of Connance, Inc. He has been Director of First Choice Emergency Room since April 16, 2012. He served as a Director of Adeptus Healthcare Ltd.(also known as ECC Management LLC) since April 16, 2012. Mr. Farber serves as Director of Connance, Inc. He also serves as a Director of the Tenet Healthcare Foundation. Mr. Farber has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
