Jonathan D. Smidt — Member & Senior Leader of the Energy Team and Head of the Industrials & Energy Investment of EMEA at KKR & Co. L.P.

Mr. Jonathan D. Smidt serves as a Vice President and Treasurer at Texas Energy Future Capital Holdings LLC. Mr. Smidt serves as a Member and Senior Leader of the Energy Team and Head of the Industrials and Energy Investment of EMEA at KKR & Co. L.P. He heads the Industrials and Energy investment teams in Europe within KKR's Private Equity platform. He served as a Head of the Industrials and Energy Investment at the firm. Previously, he was an Associate at the firm. Mr. Smidt has been with the Kohlberg Kravis Roberts since 2000, where he serves as Partner and Senior Member of its energy and infrastructure business and leads KKR Natural Resources. Prior to joining KKR, Mr. Smidt was with Goldman Sachs & Co. in their investment banking group where he was focused on the energy and power sector and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Smidt served as an Analyst at Goldman Sachs Group, merchant banking division. He served as a Manager at TXU Energy Retail Company, LP. Mr. Smidt started his career at Ernst & Young. He has been a Manager of Energy Future Competitive Holdings Company LLC since June 2012. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Team Rubicon, is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Columbia University and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He serves as a Director at EFH, AOT, Westbrick Energy and TXU Energy. Mr. Smidt has been a Director of Samson Resources Corporation since December 2011. He has been Director of Energy Future Holdings Corp.(Formerly known as Texas Utilties) since October 2007. He served as a Director of Laureate Education, Inc. since July 2007 until February 01, 2017. He holds a B.B.S. degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).
