Joseph Y. Bae — Co-President, Co-COO & Director at KKR & Co. L.P.

Mr. Joseph Y. Bae, also known as Joe, has been Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at KKR & Co. L.P. since July 17, 2017. Mr. Bae served as Member and Managing Partner of KKR Asia at KKR & Co. L.P. Mr. Bae heads the operations at KKR Asia and was the Global Head of KKR's Infrastructure and Energy Real Asset businesses. Mr. Bae served as Managing Director of KKR Asia at KKR & Co. L.P. He joined KKR in 1996 and has been with it for over 17 years. He served with Goldman Sachs & Co. in its Principal Investment Area, where he was involved in a wide range of merchant banking transactions. He worked at Goldman Sachs Group, Merchant Banking Division. Mr. Bae served as the Chairman of Von Hoffmann Holdings Inc. He has been a Director of Jostens Holding Corp. since October 4, 2004 and Intelsat Holding Corporation since 2004. He serves as the Director of Oriental Brewery Co., Ltd. He has been a Director of KKR & Co. L.P. since July 17, 2017. Mr. Bae serves as a Director of Elmers Inc., MMI Holdings, Limited, Unisteel Technology Limited and Seven Network Ltd. Mr. Bae serves on the boards of a number of non-profit and cultural institutions including, as a Trustee for Phillips Andover Academy, the Global Advisory Council at Harvard University, a Board member of Lincoln Center, The Asia Society and the Asia Art Archives as well as the Asia Pacific Council for The Nature Conservancy. He served as a Director of BIS Industries Limited. He served as a Director of Visant Corporation until November 2, 2005 and Intelsat Corporation since 2004. He served as a Director of Visant Holding Corporation from October 4, 2004 to November 2, 2005. He served as a Director of YPG General Partner Inc. since August 2003. Mr. Bae served as a Director of RentPath, LLC from April 2002 to September 22, 2005. He served as a Director of Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation until April 7, 2004; The Boyds Collection, Ltd since May 2001; and Visant Secondary Holdings Corp. Mr. Bae graduated with a B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College.
