Mr. Matthew Chang has been a Managing Director since April 27, 2014, and Head of KKR Capstone China since 2013 at KKR & Co. L.P. At the firm, he and leads KKR Capstone's engagement with KKR's portfolio companies in China. Mr. Chang served as a Global Senior Partner of Roland Berger AG since August 2010, where he was Global Senior Partner leading the firm's Asian Operations and Restructuring practices. He was the practice leader of Roland Berger Strategy Consulting's (RBSC) operational restructuring and operations team, and he was the leader for the firm's Asia Pacific healthcare practice in Greater China. During his three years at RBSC, Mr. Chang served as lead Partner for five domestic and international private equity accounts, covering due diligence, post-deal improvement work, and deal screenings, primarily in the healthcare and consumer goods industries. He also delivered year-long restructuring and operations improvement plans to companies with a focus on sales and marketing turnarounds. Mr. Chang held several management positions at leading international consultancies in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Frankfurt, where he served as co-leader for the Healthcare Practice in China. He led its Asian Operations and Restructuring practices. Mr. Chang's earlier professional experiences also included China Managing Director at AlixPartner LLP, Mr. Chang has held senior management positions at Alix Partners, where he was China Managing Director, Diageo, where he was Asia Strategy Director, and McKinsey & Company. Additionally, he has eight years of start-up experience across entrepreneurial ventures in international trading and internet ventures. He was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company and Asia Strategy Director at Diageo PLC. Mr. Chang also held various corporate functions during his career such as Director of Strategy for Asia Pacific and Executive Council member for Greater China. Mr. Chang has over 20 years of experience ranging from startup to MNC corporate to professional service in Mainland China, Europe and North America. Mr. Chang has an M.B.A. degree from IMD International and Undergraduate Degree in Mathematics and Physics from Coe College of State University of New York in the US.
