Executive Bio
Dr. George D. LeMaitre MD, FACS, serves as Medical Consultant and Advisor for The Expandable LeMaitre Valvulotome in evaluating new products, conducting clinical studies and serving as a Liaison with physicians. Dr. LeMaitre has been a Practicing General and vascular Surgeon in Andover, MA since 1964. As a Surgeon, he has brought an intellectual focus and a heritage of education. He served as the Chief of Surgery at Lawrence (MA) General Hospital and President of the medical staff of Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Vascutech. He founded Lemaitre Vascular, Inc. and serves as the Chairman of Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. LeMaitre has been a Director of Lemaitre Vascular, Inc., since 1983. He has published numerous medical articles; authored three books; and is a frequent lecturer on both medical and non-medical topics. He is a clinical instructor in surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. He trained in surgery at New England Medical Center, Hartford Hospital and the Carney Hospital. He holds a U.S. patent on The Expandable LeMaitre Valvulotome. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Angiology, New England Vascular Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and Eastern Vascular Society among others. Dr. LeMaitre received a B.A. in Mathematics from Boston College and an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine.
