Executive Bio

Mr. Young-Kee Kim serves as an Executive Vice President and Head of CSR Team at LG Corp. Mr. Kim served as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHO) of LG Electronics since 2000, where he implemented human resources policies and systems that have helped LG become a more global and achievement-oriented organization. Mr. Kim served as Executive Vice President and Chief Relations Officer of LG Electronics Inc. Mr. Kim Served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Support Division of LG Electronics Inc. Mr. Kim has been able to reach across divides to help foster an era of harmony between unions and LG Electronics management, allowing LG to focus on achieving shared goals, create better products and deliver even greater value to customers. Mr. Kim has created an extensive network of HR professionals at LG offices around the world. In 1979, Mr. Kim joined at LG in the Labor Relations division of LG Chemical Ltd., where Mr. Kim learned the importance of workplace unity, a lesson that would take him and LG to far greater success. Mr. Kim served a number of positions with LG throughout his long career. In 1983, he joined the LG Chairman's Office as a Member of the Personnel Team and Head of that Department. He also served as Head of LG's Leadership Development Team and Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to that, Mr. Kim was an In Charge of Corporate Restructuring at LG. Mr. Kim also wrote a thesis based in his experience, entitled Employee Relations at a Large South Korean Firm: The LG Group. Mr. Kim received the Korean government's Order of Industrial Service Merit in 2004. Mr. Kim holds an MBA from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University, where he received the Outstanding Global Leader Award. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Sogang University in Seoul.
