Mr. Thomas E. O'Hern, also known as Tom, CPA, has been the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of The Macerich Company since July 1994 and its Senior Executive Vice President since September 2008. Mr. O'Hern's served as its Chief Accounting Officer since September 2008. Mr. O'Hern's overall responsibilities include accounting, financial and tax reporting, investor relations, raising capital through debt and equity markets and information technology systems. He served as an Executive Vice President of The Macerich Company from December 1998 to September 2008 and Senior Vice President from March 1994 to December 1998. Since the formation of The Macerich Company in September 1993 to July 1994 he served as the Chief Accounting Officer, Treasurer and Secretary. Prior to joining Macerich, Mr. O'Hern was the Chief Financial Officer of several commercial real estate companies owning primarily retail properties. He was a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co. from 1978 through 1984. Mr. O???Hern has been an Independent Director of Douglas Emmett Inc. since October 30, 2006. He serves as a Member of the Board of Director of The Abbey Company and Linux Progeny, Inc; and is a Trustee for Little Company of Mary Hospital Foundation. Mr. O'Hern is a Board Member of several educational and philanthropic organizations. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
