Mr. Thomas E. Galuhn, also known as Tom, serves as a Senior Managing Director of Private Equity at Mesirow Financial Holdings, Inc. He focuses on and is involved in all aspects of private equity investing, including direct and partnership investment sourcing, selection and monitoring. Mr. Galuhn serves as the President of Mesirow Financial Private Equity. He serves as a Senior Managing Director of Private Equity at Mesirow Financial Inc. Mr. Galuhn served as Senior Managing Director of Private Equity at Mesirow Financial Private Equity (MFPE). He served as a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Kana Communications. Mr. Galuhn served as a Principal in Corporate Finance for three years with a regional investment banking firm and has served in various management capacities with First Chicago Investment Advisors. Before Kana, he served as a Vice President and the General Manager for another highly successful start-up, Pure Software. Mr. Galuhn began his professional career at SRI International (formerly the Stanford Research Institute). He serves as a Director of Private Equity at Mesirow Financial Holdings, Inc., Mesirow Financial Holdings, Inc., Mesirow Financial Private Equity (MFPE), Cenx, Inc., Pelstar LLC, Umbrella Entertainment Group, John Boos and Company, SMS Technology, Jungle Laboratories Corporation, Meridian Financial Corporation, Swingles Furniture Rental Inc., and Serious Energy, Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors/Observer of Pivot3, Inc., Serious Energy, Inc., Tolerx, Inc. Mr. Galuhn served as a Director of Vendavo, Inc. He is a Member of Illinois Venture Capital Association. Mr. Galuhn served as a Director of Valence Energy, Inc. He has co-authored a chapter on private equity investing for the 'Handbook of Alternative Investments'. Mr. Galuhn holds a NASD Series 7 license. He has more than 30 years private equity investing experience. Mr. Galuhn received an MBA from University of Chicago and a BS from the University of Notre Dame.
