Matthew Prest — Co-Head of Europe and Managing Director - London at Moelis & Company

Mr. Matthew Prest serves as Managing Director at Moelis & Company Holdings LP. Mr. Prest is Managing Director & Co-Head of Europe at Moelis & Company. He has been Managing Director of Moelis & Company L.P. since July 2009. Mr. Prest specialises in complex, cross border financial restructurings and has advised both corporates and creditor groups across a wide range of industry sectors and legal jurisdictions. Mr. Prest served as Director of Restructuring Group at DC Advisory since August 2007. He has taken a lead role in specific projects which include Drax, Avon Energy, Leeds United FC, NTL, Jazztel and EVC. He served as a Managing Director in European special situations of Close Brothers Group plc since August 16, 2007. Prior to joining Close Brothers in 2004, he served as a Director of Restructuring of M&G Investment Management Limited where he managed distressed investments across all debt asset classes. He worked in the Corporate Recovery team until 2002. During this time he was seconded to the workout team at JPMorgan Chase for 18 months. Mr. Prest undertakes cross-border work with the restructuring group's German team. He has worked on a number of restructurings over the past two years, including those at European hotels group Queens Moat Houses and power station operator AES Drax. He served as a Director of Close Brothers special situations of Close Brothers Group plc. He has advised clients across a broad range of industries on leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and other capital structure matters. He is qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG. He is a German speaker. Mr. Prest received a B.A. in History from the University of Warwick.
