John P. McGinnis Ph.D. — President of Seneca Resources Corporation at National Fuel Gas Company

Dr. John P. McGinnis, Ph.D., has been the President of Seneca Resources Corporation at National Fuel Gas Company since May 1, 2016 and served as its Chief Operating Officer from October 2015 to April 2016. Dr. McGinnis has 22 years experience in oil and gas exploration. He served as General Manager of Exploration and Production (Eastern U.S.) for Dominion Resources, where he was responsible for leading the Dominion business unit's strategy to explore for reserves in Appalachia and other Eastern U.S. regions. Dr. McGinnis served as Senior Vice President of Exploration and Development at Seneca Resources Corporation from March 2007 to September 2015. He joined Seneca in 2007 and has helped lead Seneca in its development of the Marcellus Shale. Dr. McGinnis served as Vice President for Exploration of Nuevo Energy Company since August 1999. Prior to joining Nuevo Energy Co., Dr. McGinnis served at Amerada Hess Corporation from 1995 to 1999 and served as its Division Explorationist. He served as Exploration Geophysicist of Tenneco Oil Company from 1984 to 1988. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is on the Board of the Western States Petroleum Association. Dr. McGinnis received his PhD in Marine Geology and Geophysics from Columbia University in 1995 and holds a BS in geology and an M.S. in geophysics, both from Purdue University.
