Mr. Thomas Robert Cangemi, C.P.A., has been Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at New York Community Bancorp Inc. Mr. Cangemi has been Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of New York Commercial Bank since December 30, 2005. He served as Principal Accounting Officer of New York Community BanCorp. Inc. He served as a Senior Executive Vice President, Capital Markets Group at New York Community Bancorp Inc. and NYCB from October 31, 2003 to April 5, 2005. He served as the Head of Capital Markets Group at New York Community Bancorp Inc. since July 2, 2003, served as an Executive Vice President, Capital Markets Group of NYCBI and NYCB from July 31, 2001 to October 31, 2003. He served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Richmond County Financial Corp. and Richmond County Savings Bank from October 1997 to July 2001. Mr. Cangemi also served as a Treasurer at Richmond County Financial Corp. and Richmond County Savings Bank. Before joining Richmond County in 1997, he served as a Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary at Continental Bank and previously, as a Director of Corporate SEC Reporting for an electronics corporation in Boca Raton, Florida. From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Cangemi served as a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Sunrise Bancorp. He held a variety of executive positions at publicly traded companies, including financial institutions. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Peter B. Cannell & Co., Inc. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the South Jersey Savings Charitable Foundation. Previously, he was a Member of the SEC Professional Practice Group of KPMG Peat Marwick serving financial institutions. He holds the C.P.A. designation and is a member of the AICPA. Mr. Cangemi has earned a B.B.A. from the School of Professional Accountancy at Dowling College.
