Executive Bio
Mr. Gary D. Packer has been the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Newfield Exploration Company since May 7, 2009. Mr. Packer serves on the Executive Board of IPAMS (Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States). He served as the President of Rocky Mountain Division at Newfield Exploration Co., from November 5, 2004 to May 7, 2009. He served as Vice President, Rocky Mountains from November 5, 2004 to May 7, 2009 and served as its General Manager. Mr. Packer managed Newfield Exploration Co.'s office in Denver, Colorado. Prior to managing Newfield Exploration Co.'s new operations in the Rockies, he was Manager of Acquisitions and Development in the Gulf of Mexico and was instrumental in the success of Newfield's Gulf operations. Mr. Packer joined Newfield Exploration Co. in 1995. Prior to joining Newfield, He worked for Amerada Hess in both Rocky Mountain and Gulf of Mexico divisions. Prior to these roles, he worked for Tenneco Oil Company. He is active in The Society of Petroleum Engineers and The Independent Producers Association of America. He is a graduate of Penn State University and holds a Degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering.
