Patrice Matchaba — Global Head of Corporate Responsibility at Novartis

Mr. Patrice Matchaba has been Global Head of Corporate Responsibility at Novartis AG since October 1, 2017. Mr. Matchaba served as the Head of the Cardio-Metabolic Development Unit at Novartis AG since May 2014. He joined Novartis South Africa in 2000 as the Country Pharma Organization Medical Director and Chief Scientific Officer. Since moving to Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation in the US in 2002, he has held several roles of increasing responsibility including Global Head Development Franchise, Immunology and Infectious Diseases (IID) ad interim, Therapeutic Area Head for IID, Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, Global Therapeutic Area Head for Arthritis and Bone and before his current role he was the Global Head of the Integrated Development Functions and Regions (IDFR), which include Global Clinical Operations, Global Clinical Submissions, Integrated Information Sciences, Development Informatics and Development Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and all Medical Country Pharma Organization (CPO) in the Regions. He served as the Head of Global Development - US at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation since October 01, 2010. He served as Global Head of Drug Safety & Epidemiology at Novartis Pharmaceuticals since January 2009. Mr. Matchaba completed his Medical Training (MD) at the University of Zimbabwe and is a Fellow of the Obstetrics and Gynecology College of South Africa. In addition, he completed the Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development in 2001.
