Shannon Thyme Klinger — Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Head of Litigation at Novartis

Ms. Shannon Thyme Klinger has been the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and Head of Litigation at Novartis International AG since May 1, 2016. Ms. Klinger served as Head of Legal and General Counsel at Sandoz International GmbH from 2012 to 2016. She served as a Partner at Mayer Brown LLP from 2010 to 2011. Before joining Mayer Brown, Ms. Klinger served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Solvay Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Ms. Klinger served as Vice President of Legal & Intellectual Property and General Counsel of North America at Sandoz Inc. She served as Vice President of Marketing Compliance and Associate Counsel at Teva Branded Pharmaceutical Products R&D, Inc. (formerly, Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc.). She joined Barr Pharmaceuticals legal department in 2005 and was responsible for all Medicare/Medicaid compliance activities. She served as Associate of Alston & Bird LLP, Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC, USA from 1996 to 2003 and served as its Partner from 2004 to 2005. She served as General Counsel North Amerika Sandoz Inc. from 2011 to 2012. She served as Vice-President of Marketing Compliance and Associate Counsel at Barr Laboratories/Duramed Pharmaceuticals, Washington, DC, USA from 2005 to 2007. She has been a Director of SIX Group AG since May 20, 2016. She is a frequent author and lecturer on topics related to Food & Drug Law, government enforcement and antitrust enforcement. Ms. Klinger also led the development and implementation of a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance program in more than 25 EU and non-EU countries, including Croatia, Poland, Hungary, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the Czech Republic. Ms. Klinger holds B.A. in Psychology from University of Notre Dame (USA) and J.D. with Honours from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA), School of Law.
