Mr. Barclay A. Phillips, also known as Buck, has been Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at G1 Therapeutics, Inc. since November 8, 2017. Mr. Phillips has been the Managing Director of Vector Fund Management, L.P., a venture capital firm focused specifically on healthcare technology, since 1999. He has been Consultant of Novavax, Inc. since November 10, 2017. He has more than 25 years of capital markets, financial strategy and business development experience in life sciences and venture capital. Mr. Phillips served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Novavax, Inc. from June 24, 2013 to November 10, 2017 and its Treasurer from June 24, 2013 to November 10, 2017. He led financial operations at Novavax, Inc., and was part of the executive team responsible for corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions. While at Novavax, he managed operating expense growth from $50 million to more than $270 million per year and successfully raised more than $800 million in multiple equity and debt financings. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Micromet, Inc. (acquired by Amgen in 2012 for $1.2 billion) from August 2008 to March 7, 2012 and served as its Principal Accounting Officer until March 7, 2012. He served as Managing Director at Vector Fund Management. Prior to joining Vector in November 1999, he served in various roles including Director of Private Placements, Director of Venture Investments and Biotechnology Analyst for INVESCO Funds Group, Inc. from 1991 to 1999. Prior to joining INVESCO Funds Group in 1991, he held positions in sales and trading with Paine Webber Inc. and Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc., from 1985 to 1990. He held positions in trading and sales with Paine Weber Inc. and Shearson Lehman Hutton Inc., respectively. He served at UBS Financial Services Inc. and GE Capital Mortgage Services of California, Inc. He serves as a Director of Cellomics, Inc. He has been a Director of Hologic Surgical Products, Limited Partnership since 2000. He served as a Director of Acorda Therapeutics Inc., from September 2004 to June 22, 2009. He served as a Director of CancerVax Corp. since December 2000 and Micromet, Inc. from December 2000 to September 2008. Mr. Phillips has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Colorado in Boulder.
