Mr. J. Frederic Kerrest, also known as Freddy, co-founded Okta, Inc. in 2008 and has been its Chief Operating Officer since July 2009. Mr. Kerrest is responsible for Okta's day-to-day operations, working with employees, partners and customers to deliver on its mission of leveraging the cloud to make people more productive and IT more secure. As a key member of management, he helps set corporate priorities to drive success for Okta, Inc. and its customers. He is passionate about enterprise technology and has spent almost two decades driving corporate efficiency via innovative software solutions. He served as Vice President of Operations at Okta, Inc. He serves as Advisor of Pixable Inc. Mr. Kerrest served as President of Okta, Inc. From 2007 to 2009, he also worked at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, where he evaluated investment opportunities and worked with existing portfolio companies to strengthen their offerings and distribution strategies. Mr. Kerrest served as Director for Business Development and Alliances of Salesforce.com, Inc., San Francisco, CA. From June 2008 to August 2008, he served as an associate at Hummer Winbald Venture Partners, a venture capital firm. From 2002 to 2007, he worked at Salesforce.com in a variety of Sales and Business Development roles, where he was responsible for creating the first ever software-as-a-service OEM and mobile distribution channels. He helped Salesforce grow from $30M to $750M+ in sales while delivering over $20M in subscriber revenue and was a 2004 & 2005 Peak Performer Sales Award recipient. Prior to Salesforce.com, he worked in a number of enterprise software development and management roles, where he wrote enterprise software for Sun Microsystems and Applied Materials and co-founded and served as director of technology at an award-winning high-tech consulting firm in Latin America. Mr. Kerrest has been Member of Advisory Board of BigString Corporation since December 19, 2006. He has been a Director of Okta, Inc. since July 2009. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Kerrest attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management where he was the 2008 MIT Patrick J. McGovern, Jr. Entrepreneurship Award recipient and Managing Director of the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. He serves as an advisor to early stage software companies and a mentor at the MIT Trust Center for Entrepreneurship and the Stanford StartX Accelerator program. He earned a French Baccalaur???at (Sciences) from the Lyc???e International de St. Germain-en-Laye in France. Mr. Kerrest earned a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University and an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Innovation from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
